Rebecca Martin

Rebecca Martin, Professor of Biology, joined the faculty at Clark College in September, 2000.  She has been a member of the education department and is currently a member of the biology department.  Her teaching responsibilities include a number of courses for non-science majors including marine biology, environmental biology and general biology.  She also assists with the biology majors coursework teaching botany and internship classes.

Rebecca has a bachelor’s degree in environmental biology from Vassar College.  She has a Master’s Degree in education from Antioch University and will complete a Master’s in environmental science and regional planning at Washington State University in May 2005.  Rebecca is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society and is a recipient of the Lane Fellowship in Environmental Science.  She was recently nominated by her students to be listed in the “Who’s Who among American Teachers” volume this year.  Her research interests include referencing stream characteristics in southwest Washington for salmon restoration efforts and the role of science education in influencing environmental ethics. She is an active volunteer in the education system and supports several environmental causes.
