Jean Watson is an instructor at Clark College, a position she has held since January 2001. Jean has earned a PhD in Educational Administration from Illinois State University, a Master of Science degree in Nursing Education from Northern Illinois University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Drama from Rosary College. She also holds a diploma in registered nursing from Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing.

Previously a registered nurse educator for 25 years, she currently teaches science and specialized math courses for Health Education students entering Medical Assisting, Billing and Transcription, EMT, Paramedic and other allied health fields. As an entrepreneur, Jean owns Watson Enterprises, an educational computer software development company. She has used self-paced software while teaching Medical Vocabulary and anatomy lab. Her interest in educational computer programs stems from prior experience directing a computer learning laboratory and three years as an educational Research Associate for IBM after receiving a faculty development grant from IBM.

Her colleagues, students and peers honored Jean Watson by presenting her with a 2004-2005 Exceptional Faculty Award.
