Workshop: Reaching Your Educational and Career Goals by Volunteering
10:30 am - 11:15 am
Join Jeff Woodford from Southwest Washington Medical Center to learn volunteering. Volunteering in the field which relates to ones career/education path, can make a difference. Benefits include, not only service to the community, but will enhance “your” education by being placed in an environment that directly affects your personal goals. Take time to make a difference in your community and for yourself!
Workshop: Careers in Fundraising and Development
10:30 am - 11:15 am
Brenda Ray Scott, Principal with Adept Diva Consulting, will present a workshop featuring insights and strategies for entering the professional development/fundraising field of the nonprofit sector in the Portland/Vancouver metro area. Job seekers/volunteers just beginning a career and non-profit staff members considering making a change will benefit from this workshop as well.
Workshop: Make it Count: Using Your Volunteer Work on Resumes and in Interviews
11:30 am - 12:15 pm
Vicki Lind, Nationally Certified Counselor, will help you present the skills and experience you gained through volunteer work to emphasize relevant professional skills and accomplishments on your resume and in cover letters. She will also help you develop engaging stories about your successes in the volunteer arena that will impress interviewers and reduce your anxiety in interviews.

Come learn how to use Clark's eRecruiting online job search database. This database contains opportunities for employment, internships, co-ops, and volunteer opportunities.
Workshop: Working for Peace and Social Justice

Join Pete Anderson to learn more about careers and volunteering for peace and social justice.
Workshop: Service with AmeriCorps and VISTA
12:30 pm - 1:15 pm
AmeriCorps is the domestic peace corps. Come learn about their mission and the various programs committed to a year of full-time service.
Workshop: What's in it for me? How Volunteering Benefits Individuals and Businesses

As local resources dwindle, organizations struggle to offer much needed services. We often find ourselves asking "what can I do about it?" Volunteering is one way to help. But if you choose to volunteer, what's in it for you? Join Cathy Hackney, Mentor Program Coordinator for the Vancouver Housing Authority STARS Program, in a discussion about being a volunteer and using volunteers.
